‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Can Stand On Its Own (ClickTheCity)

Han Solo is not my favorite character in the whole Star Wars franchise. And I prefer moving forward rather than backwards. The idea of prequels have never been something I was comfortable with. I like progression.

And because of this, I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy Solo: A Star Wars Story but I was quite surprised at how enjoyable this film was. The moment I was able to let go of any preconceived assumptions, I was able to enjoy the simplicity of this story of a young rogue.

Joonas Suatamo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Alden Ehrenreich are having a blast in Solo: A Star Wars Story

Alden Ehrenreich nails it as the young smuggler making his way in this universe. Emilia Clarke is wonderfully charming and beguiling. Joonas Suatamo infuses Chewbacca with energy and strength and Woody Harrelson is always good.

It’s fun and adventurous and surprising and it’s so un-self-conscious of the larger films that it is a part of. And that’s where it finds its footing.

I was pleasantly surprised by this film. So enjoyable!

    • Thanks! I’m now reading all of these posts from people, a lot from Star Wars fans, who find it boring and dull.

I think they wanted him to be big, bigger; I think they were against everything that I enjoyed about the movie — that it was small and personal.
