As much as I wanted to see this, Pacific Rim: Uprising didn’t serve this fight sequence well with a narrative frame that felt satisfying

Yes, I got what I wanted. I finally got to see multiple Jaegers fighting multiple kaijus but the film’s narrative was so messy, weak, and all over the place. Too many characters with an overcomplicated plot that tries to do so much and fails to really land any of the beats.

The first Pacific Rim at least had a strong emotional core to follow while this one had so many that it felt all over the place. I was so disappointed.

Really, more is not always best.
