Saoirse Ronan and Lucas Hedges are fantastic in Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird (but so is everyone else in the cast, to be honest)

It’s movies like Lady Bird that reminds us why we need ‘smaller’ films in the cinema too. Yes, it’s not some big budget blockbuster film but it’s the dimension of a theater screen that makes the ordinary extraordinary. Magnified in scope by a huge screen brings proper focus and perspective to our own lives.

This is the power of cinema and director and writer Greta Gerwig really accomplishes so much by turning this story into a movie to be released in the cinemas. It’s quite an amazing feat and I am so happy to have seen it.
