‘Everything, Everything’ is a charming romantic fable with a dark edge (Interaksyon)

So I saw Everything, Everything the other day and I am such a sucker for romantic films with characters suffering from an illness. It’s a weakness of mine. I’m a hopeless romantic with HIV. Go figure! (laugh here)

So here’s my review: Everything, Everything is a charming romantic fable with a dark edge (Interaksyon).

Everything-Everything

Nick Robinson and Amandla Stenberg in Everything, Everything

As romantic movies go, it hits its numbers pretty well. It is saved by the charm and the chemistry of its lead actors. Unfortunately, there are some missteps by the director in handling of its more fantastical elements and using handheld shots for certain scenes, which shows the director’s inexperience.

Overall, though, it is still a charming film with a dark twist.
