I have been very remiss in my blogging duties. I don’t want to say I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. I think I just got the right amount of work and I’m excited and happy about what I’m doing — I got offers to work on seven films!!! — but because I’m also balancing out having a life (because creativity does not exist in a vacuum, I need a life to process the ideas and test run them and get more ideas) and taking care of myself (minimum of seven hours of sleep everyday and a rest day at least twice a week) that I haven’t had time for two of the things I’ve been able to do last year. I haven’t been blogging as much (so sorry) and I haven’t been watching as many movies and television shows as I would like to.
Chew, chew, chew…
Yeah, I am working on seven films. Two are already on the scripting phase, one is on conceptualization, and the other four are still on the pipeline and we haven’t started yet. I want to do them all so now the trick is to spread out the deadlines so they don’t consume me and all my time. Because, when it comes to sustainability, film work doesn’t pay as much and I still need to make sure the paying jobs come in so that I can maintain stuff.
Things will get a lot easier once I set up the internet at home (I’m really gunning for Converge ICT) and I get myself a table and a chair so I stop working in my bed. That’s important. That’s crucial. I work slowly now when I’m writing in my bed and the instinct to just lay back and relax is strong. It’s very strong.
I’m fighting inertia here! I’ve been in bed for too long in Bacolod. I need to get back to Manila mode.
So I have to sneak in blogging time when I can and I hope that when my little place is set up for work and I don’t have to keep going to a coffee shop to access fast internet and have a nice working table to work on, I’ll be good.
Chew, chew, chew…
Everything will get easier the moment that’s done.
That’s my update. Now back to work… 🙂
