the day after

Last night, at a dive resort in Dauin, Negros Oriental, I sat around men and women of different nationalities as we watched Donald Trump make a victory speech on CNN.

We were all stunned, speechless, and in shock.

2016 has been a trying year, hasn’t it?

Charley and the sunrise at Dauin, the day after Trump won the election

I woke up this morning, as the sun was rising and with my travel buddy, Charley, walked to the beach and sat on the sand right in front of the water and watched the sun rise.

The sun rose. The waves crashed gently into the shore. The new day has begun.

We’re all still here.
