today’s playlist (July 4, 2016)

It has been cold these past few days. I’ve been wearing pajamas when I sleep and I get under the blanket now. I’ve lowered the electric fan setting from four to two. Sometimes, it is raining and a cool wind enters my room. I hug my pillows a little tighter.

So I don’t know why today’s music playlist as I write will be dance songs. Maybe I want to bounce on my seat as I’m typing and doing research. Maybe I just want to feel the electricity of the beats marching up and down my bloodstream. I don’t know. I just want to hear dance music today.

I’ve already played Get A New One by Kosheen and Timebomb by Kylie Minogue on Spotify.

I’m probably going to mix it with some remixes of Kate Bush songs like the Atmospheric Mix of Big Sky and I know I have some Balearic mixes of Siouxsie and the Banshee classic songs. I feel like mixing it up with contemporary dance songs and some 80s music.

I’ll probably throw in some Roisin Murphy in there as well and Moloko favourites like Forever More. Though Forever More is a dangerous song. I might end up standing up and dancing and not doing much writing. I’ll save that for later.

Bjork will definitely be played later, for sure.

Right now, Ida Corr and Fedde Le Grand’s song Let Me Think About It is pulsing out from my speakers. I really feel like dancing. Deep down in my body-level, I want to move. I think that’s a good sign.

Let’s move.

POSTSCRIPT

Using Spotify, I decided to check out Sian Evans of Kosheen’s artist page to check if her solo work is as good as her work in Kosheen and instead found gorgeous folk songs and I’m now listening to that.

Well there goes wanting to dance! Sian Evans is a magnificent!
