Batman v Superman: When Stories Are Told Wrong (Juice.ph)

So my review on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came out yesterday. The advantage I have for watching such an anticipated film a few days after its opening release is that some of my friends have seen it already so I was able to articulate my points to those who have seen it on our chat groups and I was able to clearly focus my review of the work and I feel like I’ve gone close to the level of criticism rather than a straight-up review, which is what I usually do.

Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and Ben Affleck in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a film that could have been as epic as its budget but foiled by its director’s poor execution of his concept

I really thought that this movie could have been really good; it could have been saved. It needed one or two more rounds on the editing table and the director could have used some more research on mythology and legends and watching some films that bring out that sense of awe. Zack Snyder, I felt, was more into his effects and blowing everyone away with his epic-scale battle scenes and special effects and imagery than grounding his film in that tone.

It could have been good. I hope he learns as he begins on Justice League.
