The folks at The Thinking Man’s Classroom have already been posting it on social media, so I guess it is safe to say that we’ve been shooting and preparing for the second season of Principals of Principle and I’ve been invited to be one of the panel of the online talk show. I’m joined by an amazing group of intelligent, articulate people who I have a whole lot of fun discussing the topics that Kooky Tuason has come up with for us to talk about.
What I enjoy about doing Principals of Principles is that it doesn’t feel like a talk show where I have to focus on looking at the camera (as opposed to when I do a television guesting for HIV topics, where I am aware of the camera because I’m trying to send out a message). We pretty much address the audience/viewers at the beginning and the end, but the rest of the show, the bulk of it, I’m just having a discussion with the rest of the cast. And everyone is really great.
We’ve got Ryan Gonzalez, who is a director for CNN Philippines and who has lived in the States like Victor Prieto, who identifies himself as a Republican but has returned here to the country with his family where he runs some businesses, like The Appraisery. Drei Toledo does a lot of humanitarian work and is an educator. She is an advocate for human dignity and the rights of the child. Sonia Roco has worn many hats, the widow of former presidentiable Raul Roco (who I voted for), and Marty Tengco, who teaches and is also a bartender.
We come from diverse backgrounds and even during the shoot of our first episode, when we all first really met, we sort of just hit it off and found our stride right away. I had a lot of fun doing it and I have a great time discussing various topics with them. It’s a lot of fun, really. I don’t know yet when the official launch of the second season is going to happen. I know the first season just ended and I think Kooky wants to go around schools hosting viewings of particular episodes and having a live version of the discussion in educational institutions. She mentioned something like that to me, so I don’t know if that’s pushing through.
The moment it launches, I’ll announce here in the blog. Right now, this is sort of a teaser of what’s to come for me. It’s something that I enjoy doing and I’m glad I found a sort of platform to talk openly about my ideas and learn something new from other people.
