Your World

Oh they made the world for people like you

You never say sorry for all your moods

Handsome and talented with so much to do

Boy! Did they make this world for you

You strut and swagger like you know the score

You did it all before, you can do so much more

I can only be half the man you used to be

This world was not made for people like me

You own it and you know it

So what’s it gonna be?

You’re on top of it so call it

Will it be too much to ask to stick it out with me?

There’s something missing in the way I act

Some character traits that I do lack

You saw something in me that you can bring back

Give the world back to me

Let me own it and you know it

So what’s it gonna be?

Up to you now so call it

Is it too much to stick it out with me?

**I saw this piece in an old external hard drive. It sounds more like an attempt at lyrics than it does a poem. In fact, it isn’t a poem (not by my standards anyway) and based on the structure, I can see the attempt at meter and rhythm. This is meant to be song lyrics. I just don’t remember who I was planning on collaborating with for the music.
