Reviews: Maze Runner & Two Night Stand

I was actually able to write a couple of film reviews while I was here. I got to see Maze Runner and Two Night Stand while I was here in Portugal and since they are both still showing in Manila, I was able to send a review in time for publication in Juice.

My Maze Runner review: The Maze Runner: A Great Start but a Weak Finish

My Two Night Stand review: Two Night Stand: Just Makes the Grade

Except for the damned ending sequence which could have been better directed and played out, I really liked The Maze Runner

If anything, I really enjoyed The Maze Runner. The ending needed more thought and it just seemed like a clunky bit of explanation to wrap up the whole thing. It wasn’t tight from start to finish and that is what is said because it was so tight and so well put-together. Good cast, great premise, weak follow through to the end.

Two Night Stand, on the other hand, put a smile on my face and made feel good — it delighted me, I guess, and still managed to surprise me — but the moment the credits rolled in at the end, I was done with it. It didn’t linger or resonate.

The only thing that resonated with me is how wonderful Analeigh Tipton is and I can’t wait to see more and more of her in the future. She’s going to be brilliant and amazing. I love her. I can’t wait to see more of her.
