and what would you say to your future self?

Last year, I helped out my friend, director Bia Catbagan, on a personal project, a documentary of sorts gathering a group of 20-somethings in Manila and asked them: “What would you say to your future self?”

After a year of compiling hours and hours of footage, transcribing, editing, and forming a clear narrative, the film is done.

I’ve seen the offline edit. She showed it to me, the documentary we and a whole bunch of others filmed last year. And it’s done. That’s just a teaser. Trust me, the full film is much, much more powerful and as 35-year old man, I was reduced to tears.

And that was just the offline edit.

I’m so proud of her and I’m so proud of my contribution in the film and I’m so proud of having worked with so many individuals during the shoot. It was an amazing feat and it was amazing experience and I can’t believe that it’s done.

She will be showing it soon at the end of the month. She’s getting everything ready.

Letters to the Future — so, what would you say to your future self?
