figuring out WordPress

I’ve been very, very tired of my WordPress lay-out for quite some time now. It isn’t interesting enough. But since I cannot afford to hire someone to do the lay-out for me, I have to go and figure things out myself. Mercury in Retrograde still seems to be making its presence felt, even if it just ended, and things aren’t loading properly (or fast enough) and I’m having trouble trying to figure out what to do and how to do it.

I wanted a simple lay-out that features my most recent post in the cover and then links to my other pages since everything is properly categorised. But I can’t seem to get it done. It’s harder than it looks and it is driving me nuts, honestly. I’m not tech-savvy enough to figure it out in one go and I’m afraid my blog will be making a couple of changes in the next few days.

I fear, with the new lay-out, with a static cover page, people won’t be interested to go and check my site anymore and miss out on the poetry or the HIV news and updates. I’m bound to lose readers in the process. But since I’m not in it for the hits anyway, I think I can give it a few days to experiment until I find the right lay-out that is easy for me to understand and something I can work with until it works out for me.

I still can’t believe that there are people who are following this blog and, honestly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. Please bare with me as I try to figure this out and try to make it work. If I get the lay-out that I’m hoping for, it will be cleaner and nicer to read (hopefully) and all will be well.

Thank you so much for your patience.
